Frequently asked questions
Is eTIMS mandatory in Kenya?
Yes. KRA requires businesses to issue electronic tax invoices through eTIMS, and expenses without a valid eTIMS invoice may be disallowed for tax purposes. Check KRA guidance for your exact obligations.
Do I need an eTIMS device?
Not necessarily. Cloudtrade can submit sales to KRA directly through our Slade360 eTIMS integration, or work with a KRA-approved device such as Incotex. Either way the KRA receipt number and QR code print on the receipt. We help you pick the right option.
What does the eTIMS add-on cost?
The KRA eTIMS add-on is priced on our pricing page alongside the plans. There is no setup fee for the system itself.
Can I see which sales reached KRA?
Yes. Each sale shows its eTIMS status, so anything that did not go through can be followed up the same day.
