Frequently asked questions
Is Cloudtrade too big for a small duka?
No. The Starter plan is KES 1,000 a month and covers a small shop comfortably. You only switch on more when you grow.
Can I sell on credit?
Yes. Set a credit limit per customer, sell on account and take part payments by cash or M-Pesa. Statements show every sale and payment.
Do I need special hardware?
No. Cloudtrade runs in the browser on a phone, tablet or computer. A receipt printer and barcode scanner are optional.
Is there a setup fee?
No. Setting up and using Cloudtrade is covered by your subscription alone. A setup fee only applies when you want our team’s hands-on input, such as importing your stock, setting up your branches or building a custom integration, and we agree it with you upfront.
How does M-Pesa reach my bank?
With the M-Pesa add-on, the cashier sends a payment prompt to the customer’s phone, the customer enters their PIN, the sale closes itself and the money is paid straight into your bank account. It works with most banks in Kenya.
